The year 2011 has been amongst one of the worst for climate change not only in Australia, but also right around the world. As bloggers, we spend a lot of time in front of our computers blogging, tweeting and facebooking away; sometimes we get so caught up in all of this that we don’t even realise just how long we’ve been sitting in front of our screens. All this, no doubt, contributes to the effects of climate change and global warming.
Enter National Tree Day.
National Tree Day is an initiative started up by Olivia Newton John and Planet Ark back in 1996 and since then, more than 2 million volunteers have planted over 15 million native trees and shrubs making it Australia’s biggest community tree-planting and nature care event – pretty amazing if you ask us!
National Tree Day falls on Sunday July 31st and we’re asking you to get involved! Blogger, Dani Mezza came up with the awesome idea of getting Nuffnangers to help create awareness of this amazing cause…
We want you to:
a) Write a blog post about National Tree Day so that all your readers are aware of its existence.
b) Spread the word… Facebook your blog post and tweet the heck out of it – we want everyone to know about it!
c) Nuffnang will supply you with a National Tree Day badge to proudly display on your blog so that everyone who visits will know that you’re supporting a good cause.
Sounds easy enough? That’s because it is!
If you want to take part, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be in touch!
